It’s that time of year again, the end, and the beginning. With the new year two days away those old, and new, resolutions come out. Losing weight and getting fit is probably the most common. Giving up smoking is another, cutting down on alcohol.
2014 seemed to pass so quickly, a blink of the eye and it has almost finished already. It was a busy year for me as we made the move permanent and all that that entailed and I feel I kinda put my career on hold, although we did finally get the new book out, Today was Tomorrow Yesterday.
Tomorrow night here in Nashville 100,000 people are expected to welcome in the new year downtown, with Lady Antebellum performing. To be honest, not sure that sounds like a great time, 100,000 people along the riverfront and along Broadway on a freezing cold night. I’ve experienced that many people before there, one very hot July 4, ending up taking refuge in Paradise Park with a large soda (it was Taylor Swift’s first real major show, some seven or eight years ago, along with Van Zant who were also on the bill). Tomorrow night though threatens to be the coldest night so far this winter and snow flurries are apparently possible.
Back though to resolutions. One of mine is to write this blog more often, recording events as they happen, a diary of 2015. There’s a lot of product planned for this year – an album, an EP, a book (or two), and the new play, all hopefully raising my profile here. On top of that we’re developing our land so that will be an experience, getting permits etc., putting the home and studio on there. We’re going to start planting our seeds, literally, soon – potatoes, onions, corn, carrots, lettuce and more, including of course blueberries.
2015 does promise to be a great year, and I hope it is a great one for you.
Happy New Year!
